Hello friends,
Fall is my favorite season, no contest. I loved picking apples and going to the cider mill for donuts when I was a little girl in rural Michigan. I loved taking my kids to the pumpkin farm in Texas to pick out the perfect jack-o-lanterns to carve when they were little. I love the boots and scarves, chunky sweaters and evenings spent around the bon fire. From the chill in the air to the colors on the trees and all of the nostalgic movies and treats, I cannot get enough. And of course, I love warm beverages and good books!

I have some exciting news!
First, I should be receiving my author copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Wonderful, Wacky Family any day now! I am so grateful to the kind folks at CSS for picking up this piece, as it was a special request from my dad at the end of my mother’s life. I know he will be proud to see it published in this wonderful book.
This is my second title with the Chicken Soup family, which is literally a wish come true. I’ll have a few copies of both Chicken Soup for the Soul books and Dysfunction Diaries available at these in-person events!

Suicide Awareness Month
As September comes to an end, I’d like to draw your attention to some special content on Medium. I’ve started sharing my family’s suicide story in hopes to raise awareness for families and young people. The ripple effect that happens when someone dies in this tragic way is unimaginable. Breaking the ice on this heavy conversation isn’t easy, but it can literally be lifesaving. If you or someone you love is having thoughts of suicide, please call 988 for support. Don’t wait.
